About This Journal

Welcome to our journey to adopt Emily! Words cannot express our feelings of joy and excitement to be bringing our daughter home soon. We hope that you find our journal enjoyable and educational but more importantly we pray that this journal is a source of encouragement for those considering older child and special needs adoptions.

“I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him.”

“An invisible red thread connects those destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. The thread may stretch or tangle, but never break.”
- Chinese Proverb

We knew Emily Xiang Yi was our daughter the moment we saw her sweet face. When we received her medical information and history from our agency, it broke our hearts. She has endured so much in her short life. The orphanage noted that she was very shy when she arrived, but she is feeling more and more confident in herself and loves to sing. What a wonderful day it will be when we can hold her in our arms!

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD,
"plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future."
- Jeremiah 29:11

We would like to express our love and appreciation to our family and friends who have supported us while we wait for Emily Xiang Yi to come home.

Thank you so much for visiting us during our journey.

"Many are the plans in a man's heart,
but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."
