the local market

November 21, 2012 – Today Hunter, Noah and I ventured out to a local market where they believe the SARS epidemic started.  It was interesting to say the least.  Both of us were on sensory overload with all of the sights, sounds and smells.  All kinds of things are sold here, anything and everything that you could imagine dried; mushrooms, worms, deer legs, seahorses and the list goes on.  They also sold, dogs, cats, turtles and scorpions.  In one container about the size of a kiddie pool were filled with scorpions, and two people were using chopsticks to pick out the bad ones from the container.  I couldn’t help but check the ground around me to make sure none had escaped!
