cinnamon swirl bread



IMG_0618Ahhh, it’s that time of year.  Time for leaving your windows open and enjoying the cool autumn breeze, time for afternoons of playing outside without being carried away by the mosquitoes and it’s most definitely bread making time!

I found a new recipe the other day and couldn’t resist giving it a try.  (Mostly because I had all of the ingredients and didn’t have to go to the store!)  It was delicious, and lasted less than 24 hours in our house.  So, I thought I would share the recipe.  Enjoy!

Cinnamon Swirl Bread
 
Dough:
1 cup of warm water
1/2 cup oil
4 Tbl. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
 3 cups flour
2 tsp. dry yeast
Filling:
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tbl. honey
 
 Put all dough ingredients in the bread machine in the order listed.  Set on the dough cycle.
 
When the dough is finished, take the dough out and roll it out into a rectangle.  Mix cinnamon and sugar together for the filling.  Sprinkle the mixture over the dough and drizzle with honey.
 
Roll up dough and tuck ends under.  Place in a greased loaf pan, cover and let rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.
 
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
